Barry joined Qatalyst in 2018. Prior to that, he spent 2 years in technology investment banking at Citigroup. He began his career as an aerospace engineer with Northrop Grumman Space Systems where he spent 5 years working on the development of the James Webb Space Telescope.

Barry’s strategic and financial advisory experience includes Ansys’ $35B announced sale to Synopsys, Splunk’s $29.6B sale to Cisco, New Relic’s $6.5B sale to Francisco Partners & TPG, Datto’s $6.2B sale to Kaseya & Insight, Permira’s $5.8B acquisition of Mimecast, Pluralsight’s $3.8B sale to Vista, Looker’s $2.6B sale to Google, Talend’s $2.6B sale to Thoma Bravo, Imperva’s $2.1B sale to Thoma Bravo, Magento’s $1.7B sale to Adobe, iRobot’s $1.5B sale to Amazon, Momentive’s (SurveyMonkey) $1.5B sale to STG, Drift’s majority sale to Vista, Benevity’s majority sale to Hg, Demisto’s $560M sale to Palo Alto Networks, Commvault’s $225M acquisition of Hedvig, OptimalPlus’ sale to National Instruments, Avvo’s sale to Internet Brands, and Broadcom’s $130B unsolicited proposal to acquire Qualcomm. Additional transaction experience in the technology sector includes advising on the IPOs of Pivotal and Sailpoint as well as advisory and financing assignments for several companies in the technology sector.

Barry grew up in the Bay Area and received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, M.S. in Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and M.B.A. from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
